Jelena Ivelić Telišman
My professional journey began with active participation in Salesian Animators, where I gained invaluable experience working with children and youth, especially those on the margins of society. Inspired by the values of Don Bosco, I found a passion for helping the socially disadvantaged.
After high school, I enrolled in the Institute for Christian Spirituality at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Zagreb. My studies deepened my understanding of the spiritual dimension of a person, and I graduated with a thesis titled “Man is a Holistic Being,” exploring the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual dimensions of a person.
I used a scholarship from the Ministry of Science, Education, and Sports to study social work, researching the field of spirituality and social work. I believe that providing help to others requires being mentally and spiritually healthy, which I achieve through continuous personal development.
Currently, I work as a lecturer and coordinator for students with disabilities at the University North, and I provide psychotherapeutic support to students at the psychological counseling center. Spirituality and faith have always been my first love and motivation for work, and they are key elements of my inner passion and dedication.
I have opened a new chapter in my life by founding Well: You.

Leaving the Comfort Zone and Professional Development
At one point in my life, I decided to step beyond the usual boundaries and begin my journey at the University of Kansas. This journey brought incredible experiences.
I am still immensely grateful for the Fulbright scholarship, which allowed me to fully dedicate myself to researching spirituality and social work under the mentorship of Professor Edward Canda, Ph.D. Working with various social groups and participating in projects that supported social justice and inclusion was challenging but incredibly enriching.
It was precisely those moments of collaboration, inspiration, and sharing that were the most valuable parts of my stay at this university.
My work focused on exploring the integration of spirituality into social work. Today, I apply all that knowledge through my work with my clients.
